Sinterklaas in Breskens and Sluis 2026

On Saturday 14 November 2026 Sinterklaas comes to Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In Breskens he arrives by boat in the harbour, and in Sluis he rides through the little town in a carriage with his Pieten. Both arrivals are easy to reach from Nieuwvliet and Cadzand.

What can you expect at Sinterklaas in Breskens and Sluis?

• Sluis, from 13:30: Sinterklaas and his Pieten leave by carriage from Estaminet Marie on the Kaai for a tour of Sluis. Everyone is welcome to walk along. The tour ends around 14:30 to 15:00 at MFC De Keure.
• Breskens, 15:00 to 17:00: following Dutch tradition, the Saint arrives by boat in the harbour of Breskens, after which he tours the village. In 2025 spectators could gather on the Kaai from 15:30 and the boat moored around 16:00.

Practical information

• Date: Saturday 14 November 2026.
• Sluis: departure 13:30 at Estaminet Marie on the Kaai, ending at MFC De Keure; organised by Activiteiten Sluis.
• Breskens: from 15:00 to 17:00 in and around the harbour; more information on the events page of breskens.nl.
• Combine both: as Sluis starts earlier, you may be able to visit both arrivals with your children.
• Every year: both arrivals take place every year in mid November.
